The First Bishop of Rutana Diocese is called Bishop Pontien RIBAKARE consacreted and installed on 19th August 2017 .

The Diocese is under his direction and representation . He provides guidance on the life of the Diocese at the spiritual level and at the level of development programs. In the structure of the Anglican Church, the hierarchy consecrates the personality of the Diocesan Bishop as first responsible for the government of the Diocese. He is supported in his responsibilities by the Secretariat with different departments, pastors, representatives of the Christians at different levels and departmental committees, commissions, councils and services

1^st Diocesan Synod after 5 years of existence of Rutana Diocese

The Anglican Diocese of Rutana was created on 19^th August 2017 and from this time; the Diocese is leading by the bishop Pontien RIBAKARE.

After 5 years his creation, a 1^st Diocesan synod of two days were held from 14^th up to 15^th September, 2021.The synod was leading by the Bishop of Rutana Diocese and different Five year reports related to the achievements were presented to the attendee. It was an appreciable moment as they took time to compare the beginning phase and actual phase of Diocesan life.
