GATONGATI PARISH HISTORY
Gatongati parish was born in 2015 and has 1962 Christians among whom 236 are males, 366 females and 1369 children. It covers a part of Bukemba and a part of Gitanga. It is situated at 32 km from the Rutana Town. It has 7 local churches, 1 pastor and 10 Catechists.
Since it was born, two pastors have been leading it :
1) Rev. Ndagijimana: 2015-2017
2) Rev. SABOKWIGURA Cyprien: 2017 up to now

Church Weekly Timetable
For the church activities during the week, below is the timetable:
1) Saturday: From 10:00 am up to 2pm: Worship, sharing word of God and Choir practices.
2) Sunday (7am-8am): Sunday School program and from 9am to 1.00 pm: Main service
On Wednesdays and Fridays biblical teachings such as Baptism, marriages, mothers’ Union, confirmation are delivered from 9am up to 12 am .
On Sunday, April 22th, 2018, The Bishop of Rutana Diocese Accompanied with his wife, the Mothers’Union Coordinator, the Diocesan Secretary and the Communication Officer visited the Parish of Gatongati in Timbura Archdeaconry just to share the word of God with the Christians of that Parish. His teaching was based on John 3:13-18 when teaching on True love which must characterize the church members. The Christians were very proud to receive Bishop as their Guest of honor along with the team he went with, and filled with joy and happiness, the Christians gave a gift to the Bishop.
