GITARAMUKA PARISH HISTORY

Gitaramuka Anglican Parish was born in 2002. It is made of 5 local churches with a total number of 2,306 Christians. The number of males represents 438; the females represent 791 while Children represent 1077.

It covers a part of both Rutana and Buraza (in Gitega) communes. The Parish is located at 15km from Rutana Town. In the North it borders Bukirasazi Commune, in the North-East it covers Musongati Commune, in the West of it there is Rutovu (in Bururi) commune.

Gitaramuka Parish is structured as other parishes and it possess various Departments.

Church Weekly Timetable

Concerning church activities during the week, below is the timetable:

1) Thursday (8am to 12am): Sharing of God’s word and Choir practices

2) Saturday (9.am to 12.00am) Sharing of God’s word and choir practices

3) Sunday (7 am-8am): Sunday School and from 9am to 12.00 am: Main service

4) On Saturday from 8am to 11 am, it is worth to note that specific biblical teachings such as baptism, pre- and post-marital teachings and confirmation teachings are offered.

On this 17th october, 2021 in Gitaramuka Parish, There was a confimation service lead by the Bishop of Rutana Diocese whereby 67 christians have been confirmed and 5 women adhered in Mothers’Union.
