NTAHO PARISH HISTORY
Ntaho Anglican Parish was born in 2007 It is made of 4 local churches with a total number of 1 683 Christians. The number of males represents 424, female represents 643 while Children represent 616.
It covers both a part of Bukemba Commune and Giharo commune. It borders Tanzania in the East, Butezi Parish in the North, Cehwe parish in the South, Bukemba parish in the south-west and Rutana Parish in the west. It is situated at 25km from Rutana Town.
Ntaho Parish is structured as other parishes and it possess various Departments.

Women and young girl’s workshop in Rutana, Timbura and NTaho
From the 10th up to 13th august, 2021, Mothers’ Union has organized one day workshop for women and young girl in each archdeaconry of Rutana Diocese. The total of attendances are 167 young girls and 232 women detailed as following: in Rutana archdeaconry 55 young girls and 91 women has attended, in Timbura archdeaconry 50 young girls and 55 women has followed the training, in Ntaho archdeaconry 62 young girls and 86 women.
The workshop has the following objective:
Training them on parenting approach
How they can shine in their local communities so that they can bring positive impact.
Capacity building on Sexual Violence based on gender and gender equity
The trainers were composed by the president and Coordinator of Mothers’ Union, the dean Rev. can. Alexis Musonera, Rev.can Jean NISUBIRE, Rev.can Evariste Biroruhure,Rev can Athanase Nitanga and 3 facilitator from all archdeaconry (Annociatte, Estella,Flora).
Baptism’s Ceremonies
On This Sunday 01st August 2021, in the archdeaconry and parish of Ntaho, there were ceremonies of the baptism and welcoming of new adhering Christians from different churches. A total of 22 people including 12 children, 10 adults were baptized and 20 new Christians who accepted to adhere in Anglican Church were welcomed and presented to the congregation. At this day the guest were composed by Can. Rev. Évariste Biroruhore accompanied by Rev. Joseph Ndayisaba. The predication of the day has main objective of advising Christians in general and new Christians adhered in particular regarding to walk worthy of the vocation where with they are called and keep the unity of spirit (Ephesians 4: 1-16). Note that the location of Ntaho parish is approximately at 26 km in the south-east of the country from the Rutana cathedral.
Church Weekly Timetable
Concerning church activities during the week, below is the timetable:
1) Monday: 5 pm to 6:30 pm: Home group
2). Tuesday: 5pm to 6pm: Worship
3) Wednesday: 6am to 7am: Worship
4) Thursday: 2pm to 6 pm: sharing God’s Word and Choirs practices
5) Saturday (2.pm to 4.pm) Sharing of God’s word and choir practices
6) Sunday (7 am-8am): Sunday School and from 9am to 12.00 am: Main service
7) On Saturday from 9am to 11 am, it is worth to note specific biblical teachings such as baptism, pre- and post-marital teachings, confirmation teachings are offered.
OCC Monitoring in NTAHO Parish
In the month of July on 11st, 2021, the Archdeacon of Ntaho received a team of 12 key responsible of OCC (Operation Christian Child), whom 6 were from Bururi’s office and the other 6 from Rutan’s office. They were leading by His Excellency Bishop RIBAKARE Pontien.
This team had the objective of monitoring and evaluating the progress of the activities of the OCC and to reinforce each other in terms of services dedicated to children. A preacher of the day reminded the Christians to wear the hat of good works during their Christian life. He also mentioned that good works are nothing if we do them without faith.
The Sunday service ended with the bishop’s prayers, where he asked the congregations’ blessings! After the service, the whole team had a conversation session with the OCC responsible in Ntaho and afterwards they supported the work of the church by promising 5 bags of cement for the construction of the Ntaho Church.
Note that; The OCC program helps many children to be able to follow and know the word of God and from this there is hope for the Church of tomorrow.
From July 2021, the Ntaho Parish has started a project of construction a new modern church.
The project is progressing well as you see on this picture. According to the Comittee in charge of church construction; the project will take approximatively 100 millions of Burundi Francs. The comittee and whole congregation are sending a request to the friends of Ntaho Parish to support them in prayers and in concret actions so that the church could be finalised and dedicated officially to the Lord.
